How this site is built
You are talking to a program that answers as me. It seems fair to show you how it works.
The site
Astro, rendered to static pages, hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Every page you can read here was written as a markdown file first. There is no database and no content management system: the writing is plain files, and the site is what a build makes of them.
How kp answers
When you ask a question, four things happen.
The question is turned into a vector, a list of numbers that stands for its meaning. That vector is compared against my notes, which were turned into vectors the same way when the site was built.
At the same time a plain keyword search runs over the same notes. Meaning-search misses exact words like a company name. Keyword-search misses a question asked in different words. Running both and merging the two rankings covers what either one alone would drop.
The best few passages go to a language model with my question and one instruction: answer as me, only from this. The model writes the answer and marks which passage each claim came from.
Those marks become the links you can click. You should never have to take an answer on trust.
Where the knowledge comes from
Only from notes I have published on this site. There is a second set of notes on my own machine that is never uploaded, never indexed, and never served. That boundary is structural, not a polite instruction to the model: the search index is built from one folder, and the private one is not it.
What it refuses to do
It does not guess. When my notes do not cover your question, kp says so and points you at my email instead of inventing an answer that sounds right.
It does not speak for me on anything I have not written down. A confident wrong answer about my own career would be worse than no site at all.
What it costs
A fraction of a cent per question. The whole thing runs on a free hosting plan and a small prepaid balance for the language model.
kp can still be wrong
It can retrieve the wrong passage, or read a right one badly. If something it tells you matters, check the citation, or ask me directly.
What would you want to verify before you believed a machine speaking for someone?
